How to stop the war in Ukraine (and elsewhere)!

Simply put, God's religious emissaries can end the war in Ukraine. Here's how.

Step 1: Principles
Identify obligatory ("inspired Words-of-God") religious mandates for the world's most dominant (social, political, financial influence, etc.) organized religions.

Religious Mandate: Thou shalt not kill
Christian
(Bible)

Jewish
(Torah)

Islamic
(Quran)

Step 2: Leadership
Identify senior religious leadership responsible for leading their billions of followers in compliance with obligatory ("inspired Words-of-God") religious mandates.

Muslim

Pope
Francis

The Chief Rabbinate of Israel (Ha-Rabbanut Ha-Rashit Li-Yisra'el) is recognized by law as the supreme rabbinic authority for Judaism in Israel. The present Sephardi Chief Rabbi is Yitzhak Yosef, and the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi is David Lau

Plus, include on this laundry list of religious leaders:

1. Deepak Chopre

2. The Dalai Lama

3. Paulo Coelho

4. Thich Nhat Hanh

5. Eckhart Tolle

6. James Redfield

7. don Miguel Ruiz

8. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

9. Rhonda Byrne

10. Olumba Olumba, Jr. of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star

12. Bishop Paul S. Morton of Changing A Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church

13. Bishop Clarence McClendon of Clarence E. McClendon Ministries (CEMM)

14. Dr. Taketa Williams of Taketa Williams Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida.

15. Dr. Juanita Bynum, televangelist

16. Bishop I.V. Hilliard of New Light Christian Center in Houston, Texas

17. Dr. Creflo Dollar of World Changers Church International in Fulton County, Georgia.

18. Dr. James David Manning of ATLAH World Missionary Church in New York City

19. Bishop TD Jakes of The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas

20. Pastor André Butler of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield Michigan.

Also, add millions and millions of non-violent and peace-loving persons representing Hinduism, Buddhism, Folk religions, Shinto, Taoism, Spiritism, etc.

Step 3: Action
Pope Francis provides Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of Russia, with a thirty-(30) day notice signed by leaders from all major religious organizations that on, let's say, Monday, April 17, 2023 (hereby updated to January 1, 2024) an extremely large delegation of over one-(1) million unarmed religious leaders and their followers will enter Ukraine by land, by sea, and by air to begin a cross-country march inward across the entire nation of Ukraine. This unarmed religious delegation will not function as a blockade, but will confine their actions to providing humanitarian relief and medical care - period. They will exist as sitting targets to be eliminated at the discretion of Vladimir Putin.

Step 4: Outcome
Putin has the option of killing every unarmed religious leader, including Pope Francis, or agree to negotiate an armistice with Ukraine. Notably, killing most the world's major religious leaders will likely not be perceived "positively" by the overwhelming majority of nations, and Russia would find itself . . . alone (not even the help of China's 1.4 billion population isn't enough to overcome a united world population of 6.6 billion).

Step 5: The Problem
Unfortunately, as documented and validated throughout history, organized religions have consistently demonstrated an indifference and/or support for slavery, genocide, sexual discrimination, and overt warmongering.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with believing in the Abrahamic religions of Judaism (seventh century BCE), Christianity (first centruy CD), and Islam (seventh century CE), which were ALL created from and/or derived from ancient Black civilizations. Re-read the previous sentence.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with believing in religious scripture as documented in the Bible (Christians), Torah (Jews), or Quran (Muslims). Re-read the previous sentence.

There's absolutely nothing wrong believing that religious scripture as documented throughout the Bible (Christians), Torah (Jews), or Quran (Muslims) literally represents the actual "Word of God." Re-read the previous sentence.

However . . .

History consistently documents and validates how White people literally stole the creation of the Abrahamic religions [Judaism (seventh century BCE), Christianity (first centruy CD), and Islam (seventh century CE)] from ancient Black civilizations. History consistently documents and validates how White religious leaders, politicians, and people of "wealth and privilege," have always disagreed on the authenticity of the so-called "inspired word of God" as a tool to indoctrinate and unilaterally control, manage, and organize followers of the Christian, Jewish, and Islamic religions. Then, nearly 1300 years later, with the separation of the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church, the King James Version (KJV) was begun in 1604 and finally completed in 1611. The King James Bible (KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England. James gave the translators instructions intended to ensure that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy. The translation was done by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England. Plus, the scope of religious disagreement on the "inspired word of God" is not confined to the Old and New Testaments, but also to the original biblical apocrypha that were created before, during, or as an appendix to the New Testament.

The church, including the United Methodist, Baptist, Catholic and all others are racist in practice though not in belief. Oh if we could all live by the teaching of scripture and treat each other as brothers and sisters. But as I read history, it has never been . . .
Rev. Dr. Everett S. Reynolds

As documented and validated throughout history, it's the practice of religious "leaders" to sustain the "status quo" instead of championing basic human rights; or to engage in hypocrisy by selectively "picking" how to interpret and constantly re-interpret religious text that define the so-called "inspired Words of God," which previously did not approve homosexuality, women's rights, murder, etc., but "EUREKA," we now discover 2,000 years later that essentially everything goes in the Bible, there are no ironclad "principles." Don't expect religious people to "practice what they preach," and don't dare religious people to "put up or shut up," because you're very likely to be disappointed with their excuses.

Instead of embracing altruism, far too many religious leaders embrace narcissism, and they are far are more concerned about their own safety, security, self-esteem, sexuality, popularity, and wealth than risking their life on a non-violent march into war-torn Ukraine.

True, a few religious leaders have actually put their lives on the line to fight injustice (Martin Luther King, Jesse Jackson, Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, etc.), which included receiving bomb threats, beaten, shot, or even killed; but such is a rare exception. Keep in mind, White Irish (Northern Irish nationalists and republicans, who are mostly Irish Catholics) and White English (Ulster Protestants, who wanted Northern Ireland to remain within the United Kingdom) viciously fought each other for decades. Of course, let's not overlook the perpetual hostilities between Israel and all of Islam.

The hypocrisy of organized religion is boldly showcased in the documentary film, "A Time for Burning."

A Time for Burning

A White Pastor in Omaha, Nebraska tries to introduce integration into his church by arranging visits with a Black church of the same faith. The experiment is filmed as it happened. Discussions from all points of view take place, which included a young Ernie Chambers.

In the end, as predicted by Ernie Chambers, the White pastor is forced to leave the church by a committee which did not like his attitude.

Perhaps, because "A Time for Burning" was produced in 1967, fifty-six-(56) years ago, some people believe "things" have changed to a point where racial harmony exists to prompt religious leaders to coalesce a united non-violent religious march into Ukraine to establish peace. Wrong. As revealed by the chart below, "How Racially Diverse Are U.S. Religious Groups," religion-based racism, and all related discord and animosity, is definitely alive and well! The comments made by James Baldwin on the Dick Cavett Show on June 13, 1968 are just as accurate in 2023.

“I don’t know what most White people in this country feel, but I can only conclude what they feel based from the state of their institutions.   I don’t know if White Christians hate Negroes or not, but I know that we have a Christian church that is White, and we have a Christian church that is Black.  I know as Malcolm X once put it, “It’s the most segregated hour in America life is high noon on Sunday!”  It says a great deal to me about a Christian nation.

It means I can’t afford to trust most White Christians, and I certainly can’t afford to trust the Christian church.

I don’t know whether the labor unions and their bosses really hate me, that doesn’t matter, but I know I’m not in their unions.  I don’t know if the real estate lobbyists have anything against Black people, but I know the real estate lobbyist keep me in the ghetto.  I don’t know if the Board of Education hates Black people, but I know the text books they give my children to read, and the schools we have to go to.  Now, this is the evidence.  You want me to make an act of faith, risking myself, my wife, my woman, my sister, my children on some . . . idealism, which you assure me exists in America which I have never seen.”

So, this editorial is not a call-to-action to incite, encourage or coalesce the religious-right, religious-left, or middle-of-the-road religious people to form a coalition to invade Ukraine to establish . . . peace. Oh, no. This editorial validates the ineptness and impotence of organized religion.

THE PAST: From 1932 to 1933 between 3.5 to 5 million Ukrainians were intentionally starved to death by the Soviet Union's (Russia) Holodomor

From April 17, 1975 to January 7, 1979 1.5 to 2 million Cambodian citizens were killed by the Khmer Rouge under the leadership of Communist Party of Kampuchea general secretary Pol Pot.

491,000 to 800,000 deaths 80,000 to 400,000 deaths

THE PRESENT: Number of civilian casualties in Ukraine during Russia's invasion verified by OHCHR as of February 26, 2023 = 8,101 and still counting!

OBSERVATION: White Irish (Northern Irish nationalists and republicans, who are mostly Irish Catholics) and White English (Ulster Protestants, who wanted Northern Ireland to remain within the United Kingdom) viciously fought each other for decades.

Didn't you know, organized religion has
always existed as an excuse to do this . . .

PSST! Please keep in mind what was happening (politics, WWI, WW2, religion, slavery, etc.)
during the same time periods (1492 to 1865; and 1865 to 2011) in the United States.

ASSESSMENT: Supposedly, an individual's "race" or "ethnicity" has no importance to God, because God values all of his children "equally." Conversely, religious White people openly discriminate, oppress, and kill other religious White people; and religious Black people openly discriminate, oppress, and kill other religious Black people . . . and so on and so on.

QUESTION: Given their commitment to comply with God's "Commandments," why haven't the "leadership" of every organized religion coalesced the collective might of their entire membership to prevent, to stop the killing, massacres, genocide, and wars?

ANSWER:
"Thou shalt not kill," should mean something, especially to religious people. Unfortunately, as validated by the fact of history and the war in Ukraine and murders throughout the world . . . it doesn't mean a damn thing.

Oh, and what about the war in Syria?

Don't make excuses for organized religions. Talk is cheap.

Oh, and what about the war in Sudan?

Don't make excuses for organized religions. Put up or shut up. You know, "Practice what you preach."

Oh, and what about all the other wars, skirmishes, and clashes in . . .

Yemen
and

Iraq and

Nigeria and

Somalia and

Saudi Arabia and

Democratic Republic of Congo and

Mali and

South Sudan and

Pakistan and

Libya and

Colombia and

Turkey and

Central African Republic and . . .

Oh, and what about the latest war between Israel and Hamas and other pro-Palestinian militant groups? It's the same ole hypocritical religious diatribe: We don't kill . . . kinda!

"Religious leaders" offer absolutely nothing, but former U.S. President Donald Trump says exactly what he'd do about the war in Ukraine . . .

Meanwhile . . .

Exodus 20:13

"Thou shalt not kill"
is perpetually
ignored by Israel
and every other
religious
organization.

Oh, the hypocrisy!

Don't make excuses for organized religions. Talk is cheap.

WAR IS WRONG (NOT REALLY)
Families on both sides of a war exerience loss, tragedy, and such overwhelming loneliness.

How can YOU possibly be "God-like" and humane by supporting the atrocities of wars, murder?

Oh, but in "God We Trust."

Let the church say, "Amen," to the hypocrisy!

I welcome your feedback.

“The Robin Williams Peace Plan”

There is no evidence “The Robin Williams Peace Plan” was actually written by the exceptionally talented comic genius and Academy Award® winning actor Robin Williams who died in August 2014.  Nevertheless, the “tone” of the plan reeks of Williams-isms.   Years later, especially in the wake of the 9/11/01, the plan became attached to the legacy of Williams.

“When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.”
From the 1962 film, “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”

Frankly, the “Plan” mirrors the matter-of-fact common sense of Williams’ comedic genius, and it would be wise for the U.S. Congress to establish the “Plan” as the official policy of the United States.

“The Robin Williams Peace Plan”

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for Peace. So, here's one plan.

1.    The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosovich and the rest of those good ol' boys: We will never "interfere" again.

2.    We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one sneaking through holes in the fence.

3.    All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.

4.    All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5.    No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" (for "deport") and it's back home baby.

6.    The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7.    Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8.    If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them is stolen or given to the Army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9.    Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10. All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The language we speak is ENGLISH.....learn it...or LEAVE...

11. And lastly bring back the manufacturing from our country, curtail the cheap imports from all over the world and put the middle class back to work in our country.

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'"Robin Williams.  (Yes, Robin Williams said this!)

A great lesson from "Star Trek"
A Taste of Armageddon

Anan 7 of Eminiar VII informs Captain Kirk war between Vendikar is conducted as a computer simulation, and that the orbiting Enterprise has been "destroyed" in the attack. The two planets have a treaty, according to which civilians and even accidental third-party "victims" of every simulated attack are thereby expected (required) to report to disintegration chambers for execution, including Kirk's crew.

When Anan 7 opens a channel to the Enterprise, Kirk orders Scotty to execute General Order 24 before being cut off. Kirk explains that he just ordered the ship to destroy everything on the planet within two hours.

Anan 7 condemns Kirk's actions, arguing that war is intrinsic and inevitable, and without the simulation they have no alternative but to fight a real war. Kirk responds the only reason war with Vendikar has gone on so long is because the simulation made war convenient; insulated both societies from the pain, horrors, and destruction of war; and gave them little reason to end it. He convinced Anan 7 the best solution to war is peace.
