***** This film should be required viewing prior to graduation from any (Crete) high school and college, because it accurately captures the history of filmmaking and how the social and political values of the past continue to define our present and future.

***** Absoltely a great film. Frankly, although there's no direct correlation, the film that should have been the sequel to GWTW is "Band of Angels" (1957), which also starred Clark Gable. Unfortunately, still missing is a feature film told from the perspective of escaped slaves, who repeatedly and successfully escaped slavery and southern aristocracy, and who also reclaimed their lost African heritage.
