California Represents Human Stupidity!

FACT 1:
Humans perpetually monitor and assess weather and climate conditions, and by using constantly evolving state-of-the-art technologies that often provide pinpoint accuracy, humans know "what" to expect, "where" it's likely to happen, "how" much to expect, and "when" it's likely to happen. For example:

FACT 2:
Despite the existence of and in anticipation of earthquakes, drought, wildfires, thunderstorms, snowstorms, blizzards, and all other anomalies, humans can build an oil pipeline covering 2,238 of miles from Canada (Hardisty, Canada) to the Gulf of Mexico (Freeport, Texas); or an oil pipeline covering 5,646 miles from the Atlantic Ocean (Saint John, Canada) to the Pacific Ocean (Vancouver, Canada).

But . . .

. . . the people of California are unable or unwilling to build pipelines, covering less distance than the oil pipelines, to irrigate agriculture and to control wildfires?

That's right, despite possessing a robust knowledge of the aforemention facts about weather and climate, and despite possessing the "genius" to accurately anticipate and strategically plan viable solutions to mitigate or eliminate drought and wildfires, people of California, both public and private sector, business and government, are clearly some of the dumbest humans on this planet, or worse, they just don't give a damn about fixing "their" constantly reoccurring environmental problems.

Sadly, rather than fixing the problem, the past and current practice is for people of California to complain:

it'll cost too much . . .

physics don't enable us to upscale desalination systems of such magnitude . . .

blame the Republicans . . .

blame the Democrats . . .

why should we pay; we feed the nation, let those folks in the rest of the country pay. . .

this is an LGBT+ issue . . .

The rich, the affluent, and the powerful know that every year, as the suns rises and sets, in certain geographic areas we can expect earthquakes, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. Every year. Nevertheless, it remains the practice of the rich, the affluent, and the powerful to build homes, schools, and businesses that are not designed to survive environmental catastrophes.

Even worse, despite having the technology and financial resources to significantly reduce or eliminate constantly reoccurring environmental destruction and loss of life (as represented below in the pictures of levees in the Netherlands and London), the United States of America incurs the same great loss of property and loss of life over and over, year after year.

Netherlands London New Orleans

Equally distrubing, the rich, the affluent, and the powerful use laws and commerce to inhumanely propel their minions of "worker bees" to live and work where structures have not been designed to survive environmental catastrophes. That's just stupid, if not insane. Albert Einstein said it so clearly, “Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Sadly, even with additional property loss and loss of life, the U.S. is NOT going to change. Oh, for sure, anything can happen, but in the absence of change, the following video is a linear projection of what you can expect.

Your life is in great peril by living in California . . . or New Orleans . . . or Florida.

Tick. Tick. Tick. It's just a matter of time.

I welcome your feedback.
